Description
Sunset In Garbage Land isn’t just a former metropolitan coastal city that was devastated by rising sea levels, ensuing civil strife, and then nuclear war…it’s also a lifestyle. 125 years on, soon not to forget its colorful past, it’s clear to SIGL’s citizens that there is one other thing besides cockroaches that survive a nuclear war, the inevitable nuclear winter, and the bizarre re-populating of the planet’s radiated species, and that’s garbage. Plenty of garbage.
Ironically, from those mountainous garbage mounds and territories arose life again, like a Garbage God that spoketh to his would-be followers: “go forth and make stink. Embrace it. From the garbage thou shalt inherit the earth.” New fruits and useful food sources sprouted and glowed with terrifying beauty. New species of mammals crawled out and greeted the sun. And humanity was supplied with all the garbage they needed to get them back on their feet. People learned to grin crookedly again. And more than a few became talented whistlers.
As it turns out, I’m not done with my Sunset in Garbage Land series yet.
